San Patricio County EDC & Workforce Solutions Coastal Bend Hosts Skills & Trades Career Expo and Job Fair

Sinton, TX – February 29, 2024 – In collaboration with the San Patricio County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), Workforce Solutions Coastal Bend is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated Career Expo and Job Fair, taking place on Thursday, February 29, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm at the San Patricio County Fairgrounds – Civic Center located at 219 W. 5th Street, Sinton, TX 78387.

This exceptional event brings together employers who are geographically located in San Patricio County, with a focus on businesses prominent in the area, including manufacturing, skills & trades, and public service.

The Career Expo kicks off with an exclusive opportunity for Middle and High School Students from San Patricio County Independent School Districts (Odem, Gregory-Portland, Mathis, Sinton, Taft, Ingleside, and Aransas Pass) from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. This designated time provides students with a unique chance for career exploration, connecting them with potential future employers, and a chance to learn about occupations in high-demand.

Following the Career Exploration session, employers are invited to an Employer Workforce Lunch and Learn from 12 pm to 1 pm. During this session, valuable information will be shared about various opportunities, including Apprenticeships, Youth Programs, Priority of Service, Skills for Small Business, Skills Development Fund, Workforce Assistance to Employers, WorkInTexas.com, Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act, Workforce Opportunity Tax Credits, and Fidelity Bonding. Employers interested in these opportunities are encouraged to contact a Business Solutions Representative.

The Job Fair officially opens its doors to the public from 1 pm to 4 pm. Job seekers are urged to come dressed for success and have their resumes ready to share with potential employers. Workforce Professionals can help resume preparation and interview readiness at any of the 7 career centers.
