Tuloso-Midway Students to Receive Career Ready Workforce Certification During Ceremony

Over 25 Tuloso-Midway High School students will receive a Career Ready Workforce Certification (CRWC) today, July 24th at a graduation ceremony beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Tuloso-Midway Academic Center located at 7601 Leopard in Corpus Christi, Texas. CRWC is a workshop where students learn and practice “soft skills” to increase their employability when they leave high school and search for meaningful employment. Some of the competencies in the soft skills training include: Communication Skills, Learning Skills, Personal Management Skills, Time Management, Commitment to Employer, Computer/Technical Literacy, Strong Work Values, Academic Competence, Leadership/Management Skills, and Teamwork.

In addition to the certification, the students will receive 2.2 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from Del Mar College, a college transcript and an alumni membership at no cost upon completion of the training.

The five-day workshop focused on highly sought after skills that employers seek such as appropriate interpersonal skills, teamwork, problem-solving activities, strong work ethics and the impact of positive/negative attitudes in the workplace. The ultimate goal of this training is to empower our students with employable job skills that organizations find an integral and necessary part of everyday business. A key component to making businesses more profitable and better places to work.
