Register for 12 Months of FREE Child Care Assistance for Parents Working in the Service Industry. Registration Closing Soon. Apply Today!   CORPUS CHRISTI – On September 22, 2021, the Texas Workforce Commission expanded funding for Child Care Assistance to provide 12 months of free child care to low-income parents who are employed in the service industry using federal COVID-relief funds. The Service Industry Recovery (SIR) Program is ending March 30, 2022, so we highly encourage parents in need of Child Care Assistance to apply as soon as possible as it takes time to process applications. Applications submitted after March 15, 2022, will not guaranteed.   The SIR Program is targeted to support working parents employed in the arts, entertainment, and recreation, as well as accommodations, food services and retail trade industries. These industries were greatly impacted by the pandemic. Employers in these industries are encouraged to share this information with their employees. Please download the SIR Program Flyer and post in your place of business. Registration is closing soon, so apply and qualify today to lock in 12 months of free child care. After the 12-month period has ended, all income-eligible families may apply for the regular child care subsidy program.
